The University of Cape Town provides 40 hours of a community build each year as part of the requirements for the first year of a Construction Studies degree. This is an extremely well-coordinated project by the Construction Economics and Management department. We visited a location in Delft, Cape Town, in 2019 where they were procuring RDP dwellings. This was a fantastic experience because it allowed us to collaborate as classmates segregated into our individual teams. I was a member of the Royal blue team, led by Kristen Davids.
